I am so excited to share with you a foundation that is a new favorite of mine! I have been trying out different foundations, trying to find different types that work for my skin type and have great coverage. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation is a full coverage foundation that is oil free. I’ve had it for a few weeks now, and I am really enjoying it!
Like I said it is a full coverage foundation which is always my preference. I definitely think it would be nice if it was a build-able foundation, just so that I can add more coverage when I have a break out or something, but the coverage I get is usually good enough so it’s no big deal. I also love that at the end of the day I usually don’t have any issues with oily skin. This was my main focus when looking for a new foundation to try. It is an oil free foundation, so it prevents me from getting oily, but I also don’t feel dried out at the end of the day either. So in that regard it has a nice balance.
I personally use the color tan honey, its a perfect match for my skin tone. The texture of the foundation is probably my favorite part, its very thick, like a clay (hence the name) but it goes on so light. When I first put some of this foundation on my brush I was a little intimidated, thinking it was going to be super heavy, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was still a very light formula and very easy to blend into my skin.
I enjoy this foundation so much that I save it for special occasions. It runs around $38, so for me that’s an investment that needs to last me a while before I need to get more. So I try not to use it every day, even though I am always tempted to grab for it! I would definitely recommend this foundation to anyone looking for something that is light weight, but has great coverage, and if you happen to have issues with oily skin, this foundation might just be perfect for you! So try it out!
Have you tried this foundation before? If so, what did you think? I would love to hear some of your favorite foundations as well, I’m always looking for something new to try! xoxo
